A city full of unique and fun experiences waiting for you
Did you know there’s more to do in London than seeing Big Ben and taking a trip in the London Eye? The city is full of unique and fun experiences waiting to happen – especially in West London! You can enter a museum after hours, ring a bell for champagne, take a romantic boat ride and lots more. Here’s our top five unique things to do in West London for couples.
1. Visit a London museum after hours
Lots of the city’s most famous museums are located within West London and occasionally open late for a totally unique visiting experience.
Commonly known as the V&A, this museum houses exhibits of art, design and performance. Highlights include the jewellery quarter where you can marvel at the sight of Queen Victoria’s sapphire and diamond coronet.
The museum usually hosts events on the last Friday night of each month (except May and December) such as DJ performances and screenings.
Located beside the V&A, the Natural History Museum’s building architecture is a sight to behold in itself. Inside you can see a 25-metre blue whale skeleton plunging from the ceiling, a nearly complete dinosaur skeleton, and a rock that’s as old as the solar system.
The museum run lots of fantastic events such as yoga sessions, sleep overs and silent discos – just check their event calendar to see what’s on when you’re visiting. Entry is free and the museum opens until late on the last Friday of each month.
2. Dine at London’s most romantic restaurant
Situated in the heart of Covent Garden is Clos Maggiore – recently voted as the world’s most romantic restaurant. Diners are whisked away to a romantic oasis like that of Tuscany or the south of France with the restaurant’s abundant flowers, candle lit tables and glass ceiling.
Dishes served at the restaurant are created with top quality fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are in season and it’s this commitment to detail that’s earned the restaurant three AA Rosette awards. Menu highlights include the Roasted Black Iberian Pork Loin and the Pan Roasted Wild South Coast Sea Bass.
3. Press for champagne at Bob Bob Ricard
Bob Bob Ricard has become an institution in London’s Soho. The lavish bar is made up of private booths where patrons can simply press a bell to order champagne. 4. Hire a rowing boat on the Serpentine at Hyde Park

Take in the beautiful park scenery as you navigate the lake together and watch out for the ducks. Afterwards pop into the lakeside café where you can enjoy a jug of Pimm’s and relax upon a blue and white striped deck chair.
5. Catch a show at the London Cabaret Club
Performances at the London Cabaret Club are split into three acts that showcase the evolution of British pop from the 1960’s to the 2000’s.
