Located on Waterloo Street, Fumo’s menu is based around ‘Chichetti’: Venetian tapas like Sicilian prawns and slow-roasted pork belly. Five to six dishes are recommended per couple and is by reservation only.

Throughout the day diners can opt for afternoon tea, brunch, bottomless brunch, lunch, set menu or choose a dish from their all-day menu. Highlights from their menus include lobster tail and chicken thigh laksa. There’s also a halloumi burger and leek risotto for vegetarians.       Opened by husband and wife team Adam and Natasha in 2013, Adam’s Restaurant has been rated number 2 for best restaurant in Britain, number 6 in Europe and number 11 in the world by TripAdvisor in 2018. This Michelin star restaurant provides the perfect dining experience for a celebration such as an anniversary or birthday. Guests can enjoy a six-course tasting menu with wine pairings and sample some of the best ingredients Britain has to offer.

       

    6. Asha’s Birmingham

      The multi-award-winning Asha’s has locations all over the world: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain … and Birmingham! Asha’s is an Indian restaurant that’s famous for both its food and its speciality cocktails. Their spice blends have been passed down through generations and are still used today as the restaurant combines traditional Indian cooking with modern, contemporary style. Top rated dishes include whole lobster panchporan from their meat menu and paneer makhani from their vegetarian menu. No visit to Asha’s is complete without a signature cocktail. We suggest trying the ‘Rickshaw Fizz’ – Raspberry Vodka and Chambord Raspberry liqueur with fresh kumquats, raspberries, redcurrants and homemade vanilla sugar, topped with champagne.

The restaurant specialises in providing diners with an unforgettable experience through their different events and live music evenings. Their A la Carte menu includes eight beef options from the grill served with their house-made chimichurri sauce. Delicious veggie dishes include charred aubergine and pea and mint tortellini.

       

    8. Purnell’s Restaurant

      Purnell’s Restaurant is a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Colourful and quirky, the restaurant exists within a red-bricked, protected Victorian building on Cornwall Street in Birmingham. Run by Michelin starred chef Glynn Purnell, the restaurant provides diners with a fine dining experience while offering dishes that take influence from Britain, France and the Far East. Purnell’s is suited to couples seeking something a little different for date night. Though it’s fine dining, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing. Purnell’s offer lunch, a la carte, tapas and tasting menus.

      Known for providing one of the top dining experiences in the West Midlands, Simpsons offers modern, seasonal British cuisine like you’ve never tasted before. Head chef Luke Tipping takes much of his inspiration for dishes by what local ingredients are in season. Their menu includes dishes such as Orkney scallops, Cornish lamb and Newlyn turbot.
