    Famous Sights & Landmarks in Cork

    Elizabeth Fort

    From the grand parade, cross over the pedestrian bridge and walk a short distance to Elizabeth Fort on Barrack Street. It is a 17th Century Star Fort, with beautiful views of the entire city from the bastions. Walk throughout see the great cannons and grounds.

     

    St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral

    From Elizabeth Fort, head to St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, a great neo-Gothic Anglican church situated on a site of Christian worship since the 9th century.; Explore the grounds, the Cathedral, and don’t forget to look out for the large gilded angel on the roof of the eastern end of the Cathedral. You may get to hear a choir or organist at play.

     

    Fota House & Gardens

Learn of their colourful backstories and the interesting and curious tales of life in the big house, recalled for you by our friendly and knowledgeable guides.

    Nano Nagle Place

    From St Fin Barre’s Cathedral take a stroll over to Douglas Street, experience the tranquillity of Nano Nagle Place, an oasis of serenity and beauty. The complex houses a museum, gift shop, heritage rooms, and gorgeous gardens. Also after all this exploring why not take 5 and enjoy the delights of the wonderful Good Day Deli, where you can enjoy a mix of local, seasonal, and organic food.

     

    Crawford Art Gallery

    Looking for further cultural stimulation head back towards the city, to Emmet Place to explore Crawford Art Gallery, which is in the momentous heritage building once the cities custom house. This gallery is home to works of much-loved Irish artists and runs temporary exhibitions.
