    Duncannon Beach

    One of Wexford’s most popular beaches, Duncannon beach is a mile-long sandy beach that faces south. It extends from the village of Duncannon to the large estuary created by the River Barrow. Strong winds and waves are kept to a minimum at this beach thanks to its sheltered location which makes Duncannon Beach one of the top beaches in Wexford and a hugely popular spot for summer swimming and sunbathing. The beach provides you with a breath-taking view across to Hook Head and the hilly Waterford coastline. 

    This Blue Flag beach has a Lifeguard on duty during the summer months with car parking available in the town alongside the beach. The beach is dog friendly but as it has been awarded a Blue Flag, dogs must be kept on a lead and owners need to clean up after them.

    Rosslare Strand Beach

    Rosslare Strand Beach can be found beside the village of the same name at the southern end of Wexford Harbour. It’s made up of a mixture of sand and stones and contains wooden breakwaters that are functionally designed to prevent erasure of the beach. It’s a Blue Flag Beach in Wexford and claims to be ‘The Sunniest Place in Ireland’ receiving 300 more hours of sunshine than the national coastline average. The beach is perfect for a swim at summertime and for long walks all year round. It’s no wonder that Rosslare Strand Beach is a favourite among residents and tourists alike!

    Curracloe Beach

    Curracloe Beach is famous! The beach was used in the filming of the D-Day landings in the 1997 film Saving Private Ryan. This soft sanded beach stretches from Raven Point to Ballyconigar and has three access points along the way. All these entrances are wheelchair and buggy accessible thanks to the wooden boardwalks.

    Ballymoney Beach

    Ballymoney Beach is made up of two sandy beaches near the town of Gorey. Not only has the north beach achieved Blue Flag status, the south beach in Wexford has been awarded a Green Coast award, a testimony to its cleanliness and quality. Visitors of this beach have reported sightings of the friendly local seal! Ballymoney Beach is the perfect spot for swims and coastline walks.

    Morriscastle Beach

    Morriscastle is a picturesque Blue Flag beach featuring long stretches of golden sand and grassy sand dunes. Its beauty will take your breath away which is why it more than merits it’s spot in our top 5 Wexford beaches. Perfect for young children, the beach is sheltered by a dune system. Swimming is very safe here and there’s a lifeguard present during the summer months.
