The Stadsschouwburg (or Municipal Theatre) is a neo-renaissance building in Leidseplein Square. It has an array of incredible street musicians outside but is also home to the Toneelgroep, one of Amsterdam’s most influential theatre companies. 

The original theatre was burnt down but after being rebuilt in 1894, it hasn’t looked back since, becoming an important part of Amsterdam’s culture.
