The Stadsschouwburg of Amsterdam
The Stadsschouwburg (or Municipal Theatre) is a neo-renaissance building in Leidseplein Square. It has an array of incredible street musicians outside but is also home to the Toneelgroep, one of Amsterdam’s most influential theatre companies.
The original theatre was burnt down but after being rebuilt in 1894, it hasn’t looked back since, becoming an important part of Amsterdam’s culture. The horseshoe-shaped auditorium seats 1,200 visitors and thanks to its grand stairs, velvet red curtains, golden chandeliers and magnificent wall paintings, it conjures up an atmosphere of nineteenth-century luxury.

Anne Frank’s House Museum
Anne Frank hid from the Nazis in 1942 during their occupation of the Netherlands and her tale has become famous across the world.

The Dam
Just a five-minute walk from Central Station, Amsterdam’s main square is usually busy with locals and tourists at all hours and there’s always something going on.
In the square in amongst the hustle and bustle, you’ll find a wide array of food stalls, restaurants and shops, including local delicacies and international favourites. There is so much to do and see.
